Tattler - Day 2

So day two's wind was pretty similar to day one but we did have a nice sunrise.

Wayne's ride almost left Rosemont without him, when a kind sole informed Danny that the other guys had already left.

The local teams SHAC and BAC headed by taxi up west and the rest of the teams boarded their rides for the day. Playmate with Goombay Hookers was first to leave; they can only improve on their bagel from yesterday.

Aron could only look skyward and pray for a good day as they boarded Reel Hot.

Neil and Bobby tried to read the tattler in the wind as the first two boats left and they waited for their teammate or boat. Yes Bobby is the 3rd Stiff Rod today; good call Richard to stay on land.

Brian was actual 10 minutes early (6.20) on the dock and complained that the boat (Reel Addiction) wasn't even there yet.

Dean was the one checking his phone this morning for the weather forecast.

And while everybody else left Wayne and Peter chatted or Wayne tested his line as Danny and Bobby went off to get more tackle and bait, as it seems Craigin went off with some of their marlin meat. As they planned to head in the opposite direction to all the other teams they weren't allowed to leave the dock until 7am and the tournament director enforced this.

We'll see if their gamble paid off.

Well this was the weather that the boats had to come home to and sure enough it started to rain with the wind now coming from the north as the first boat weighed in. Some teams chose to go north while others went to the banks. Again it was another slow day for catches but the blackfin are givinga few release points.

Two DW weighed a 28.5lb wahoo, which was the high point fish for the day caught by Neil McKinney on Reel Addiction and they released 11 other fish.

As the weather was awful we didn't have a bar set up outside, we did have some food, and so it was hard to get any gossip from the day.

Although I did hear Eric stuck to his own rod all day. This allowed Mark to weigh one 20.2lb blackfin for BAC on Overproof. Eric still managed to catch more fish than his teammates combined with 4 releases.

Unfortunately Three Reel Anglers on Reel Hot didn't have anything to weigh and only had one release.

Wayne's stinky mix definitely wasn't working to day as FSR only managed to bring one fish to the dock and they weighed it so fast, maybe cause it was only 14.2lb that we had to get the picture just as Peter Olander was starting to cut it up. Thanks boys you can have it for dinner tomorrow. Danny is definitely trying to be top dog.

SHAC on Mega Bucks went to the South dock and only managed to release fish today - Alan and David Ross getting 3 each and Fiona with just 1.

Playmate was last in and also went to the South dock. As they docked Keith Winter's grand daughters looked on sporting shirts in his memory.

Goombay Hookers had the largest catch of the day with 2 fish! A wahoo weighing 16lb caught by Colin and a yellowfin weight 18.8lb caught by Wayne R. Their day was definitely better as they also had 14 releases between them.

So the overall results for the day are Neil McKinney High Point Angler with 1,328 points, Wayne Russell in 2nd with 1,182 points and Colin Rose in 3rd with 840.

High Point Team for the day was Goombay Hookers with 2,622 points, Two DW Squared in 2nd with 2,078 points and BAC in 3rd with 1,203 points.

High Point Boat for the day was once again Playmate with 2,622 points, Reel Addiction in 2nd with 2,078 points and Overproof in 3rd with 1,203. So for two days in a row the boats all keep their same positions.

See Results for other anglers and the cumulative standings after 2 days.

Anglers enjoy your rest day tomorrow and if the forecast is true the final 2 days should be much nicer.

Enjoy the BBQ and tight lines for Thursday.

Just one final note to captains at the weigh in, space is limited at the dock and we would like to give all teams an easy off with their tackle/ fish, so as much as we like you staying could you please make space for boats arriving and then come back to dock when they leave. This is going to especially important the last 2 days, as the tides will be much lower. Thank you!
