Each 3-person team fishes on a different charter boat each of the 4 fishing days, which
is decided at the captain’s meeting on the Sunday evening. We follow IGFA rules - The game fish specified by the I.G.F.A.
shall be eligible for the 2010 tournament, with the exception of ALL SHARKS. We use a points rather than the factor scoring
system. Minimum weights are equal to or greater than line test with the exception of tuna, which is 18lb. Eligible release
fish for line test:
BILLFISH, YELLOWFIN & BLACKFIN TUNA ONLY
Blue Marlin = 250lbs White Marlin
= 75lbs Sailfish = 50lbs Yellowfin/Blackfin Tuna (150 release points)
Scoring Points are as follows:
Up to 35.9lbs = 15 points per lb 36-59.9lbs = 25 points per lb 60lbs & up = 40 points per
lb
Most of the fishing is done at anchor with chumming. No lines or chum in the water before 8.30am.
The 2009 tournament entry fee was $8,100 per team ($2,700 per angler). The entry fee covers the cost of the boats
and functions (excluding any transportation costs and drinks and raffle at the BBQ and Prize Presentation Dinner). Team deposits
of $500 are due by 2nd March 2010 with the balance due 5th May 2010. If non-fishing guests are coming then there is a $130
charge to attend all the functions. Anglers bring all their own tackle and provide their own food/drink while fishing. Tipping
of captains and mates is at the discretion of the anglers and is not included in the tournament fees.
